The Alzheimer’s Family Services Center  has a local focus versus a national wide one. However, the service to those with Alzheimer’s and their families is very.very important.

The get funding from Donations.  The donations are used to support the direct care programs.  Finally, the money goes to caregiver support services.

Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation

The Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation (LIAF) is another example of a local Alzheimer’s resource. Located in New York, LIAF was formed in 1990.  Their goal,  serving those in its community who are suffering with dementia. Finally,  programs, which target the different stages as well as the personal challenge associated with Alzheimer’s.

LIAFis able to provide meaningful activities for older adults with dementia.  Again, this will help  ensure the individual’s family members are supported as caregivers.
